CopyCraft – Support

Contact

Question or found a bug? Email support@heronlabs.app. I fix bugs as best I can, but with no fixed response time, no warranty and no refunds from me. Refunds go through Apple.

You can also choose "Suggest a Feature…" or "Report a Problem…" in CopyCraft (in ⋯ › Help or in About CopyCraft). Your mail app opens with a draft; you send it yourself. The mail holds only your own text plus the CopyCraft and macOS versions, never your clipboard, history, file names or settings.

FAQ

  1. How do I open CopyCraft? With the hotkey (default ⌃⌥Space: Control, Option and the space bar) or from the menu bar icon. Change the hotkey in Settings.
  2. Why don't I see what I just copied? Watch clipboard is off until you click it on the welcome screen (or turn it on in Settings › Privacy); until then, press ⌘V in the card or drop text or a picture on it, and all tools work on that. With Watch clipboard on, you copy as usual (⌘C) and your copy is on the card when you open CopyCraft. To see every copy right away (in history, and the menu bar icon blinks on each ⌘C), choose Always Allow when macOS asks whether CopyCraft may paste, or set it in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Paste from Other Apps. Otherwise CopyCraft reads a copy only when you open the card. Your choice (on or off) is kept, also after an update. Pause, Ignore Next Copy and Ignored apps only work while Watch clipboard is on.
  3. Why is my text hidden or blurred? That is the privacy filter. It is off by default; only when you tick "Use privacy filter" in Settings › Privacy does copied content stay hidden until you click it. Click the text to reveal it. To turn it off again, untick "Use privacy filter". Hidden content shows as a plain cover by default; tick "Blur masked content" to see a blur instead. Sensitive text such as a token is never kept in history, also with the filter off.
  4. Do I have to allow clipboard access? On newer macOS versions the system asks whether CopyCraft may read the clipboard from other apps. Choose Allow, or set it in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Paste from Other Apps; with Always Allow you see every copy right away. With history off, CopyCraft reads the clipboard only when you press ⌘V in the card. With history on, and unless you always allow it, CopyCraft reads a copy only when you open the card.
  5. Does my data leave my Mac? No. CopyCraft works fully offline and has no network access. History is kept in memory only and is gone when you quit CopyCraft. See the privacy policy.
  6. Does my password or token end up in history? Recognized tokens and keys (for example GitHub, AWS or Slack tokens and private keys) are deliberately kept out of history, also in an image: a screenshot whose recognized text contains such a token or key is shown on the card but not added to history. A long text (32 KB or more) goes into history only after it has been checked. A password stays out only when your password manager marks the copy private (the nspasteboard.org Concealed or Transient types); most password managers do. An ordinary password you type and copy yourself is not recognized: it does go into history (in memory only). Remove it with Remove from History or Wipe.
  7. How do I clear what I copied? Use Wipe or Clear History on the card or in the menu.
  8. How do I take a screenshot of the card? CopyCraft blocks that by default. Choose "Allow Screenshots" in the menu bar menu to allow it for this session.
  9. An app should be ignored. Add it under Ignored apps in Settings (only with history on).
  10. How do I start CopyCraft at login? Turn on "Open at Login" in Settings or on the welcome screen. It is off by default.
  11. The AI features don't work? They need Apple Intelligence: a Mac with Apple silicon, macOS 26 or later, and Apple Intelligence turned on in System Settings. The AI runs on your Mac.
  12. Can I copy from my iPhone? Yes, with Apple's Universal Clipboard: your iPhone or iPad and your Mac are near each other, signed in with the same Apple Account, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on, and Handoff on. Copy on your iPhone; with Watch clipboard on, the copy is in CopyCraft, labeled "From another device". With Watch clipboard off, paste it with ⌘V on the card. A copy from another device stays available only briefly.

Logs and diagnostics

CopyCraft logs events only, never clipboard or history text, file contents, file names or paths. In the ⋯ menu choose "Export Diagnostics…" and attach the .txt file to your support request. It holds the app version, the macOS version, your settings (values only) and the log lines of the last 24 hours of the current run.
